The YC, a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization, exists to help students build positive, healthy futures through individual mentoring and developing skills needed for life-long success. Students need community. They look for it, and once they find it, they thrive in it. Community gives students a sense of purpose and belonging. Our downtown Olympia community center has been designed to attract and meet the needs of today's teen.

The focus: providing students a physical place to come build healthy, balanced relationships with adult mentors, and develop the skills needed to set and attain life goals.

It's a learning environment.
We believe when students are given an environment that they are comfortable in, one that they choose, not only will it be easier to attract them, you will activate and engage them. Earning trust and engaging a student's personal will are fundamental success factors in behavior change. For us this is foundational. Additionally we will help students with homework and academic tutoring, vocational training, music and art lessons and for some, the chance to recover lost high school credit. These programs are intended to support, not replace the traditional school setting. This model will not only help us serve those students that are at-risk, but also help us identify those yet to be defined and considered as at-risk.
